The twelfth of never 是一个了了无期的日子。1957 年 Johnny Mathis 有一首流行歌曲就叫 The Twelfth of Never，其中有以下歌词：

"You ask how long I'll love you? I'll tell you true:

Until the twelfth of never,

I'll still be loving you."

一般的理解，the twelfth of never 是日期的表示方法，例如 the first of May（也是另一首流行曲的歌名）是五月一日，the eighth of March 就是三八妇女节。按照这个解读，the twelfth 是指某一个月的第十二天，而该月就是 never，是一个不存在现实的月法，因此the twelfth of never 指的一个并不会来临的日期。Johnny Mathis 的歌词大意是说直到永远永远，我还是会爱着你。
