Anthony 问，为什么不是 "As a skittish and obnoxious passenger"？何以用 "skittish（水性阳花）" 来影容乘客？

Skittish 确实有水性杨花之意。莎士比亚的作品中就有好几次用这个字来形容女性。 但在别的情况 skittish 也有其他意思，例如用在小孩身上就是指他贪玩，没有一刻可以安定下来；用在乘客身上，skittish 则指不稳定、紧张、 大惊小怪，没有其他特别的意思。

Anthony的问题可这样理解："skittish and obnoxious passenger"和"skittish to obnoxious passenger" 有何不同？ 前者是既skittish又obnoxious， 而后者是在skittish与obnoxious 之间。 说真的，其实分别不大，反正有这样的搭客坐在身边就不会太好受。 但从修辞角度来看，还是有不同的，下回再谈。
