A：It’s too good to be true! If I were there, I would ask him if he himself was a successful man.

哪有这样的好事啊!如果我在场，我会问他自己不是成功人士。

B：Nobody would drive him up a wall by asking him such a question, you know.

要知道没有人会问这样的问题把他逼得无可话说。

up to a wall是指“到了墙边，已经没路可走了”，比喻人“走投无路”。短语“drive sb up to a wall”则指“把某人逼上绝路”，亦可做“push sb to a wall”。
